Spanish Football League Considering Implementing Vanishing Spray

The "innovative foam spray being used for free-kicks" at the World Cup could be adopted by the Spanish Football League (LFP) for the '14-15 campaign in both La Liga and the Spanish second division, according to Ramón Fuentes of MARCA. The LFP suggested using the spray to its Referees Committee before the start of the World Cup. The president of the Referees Committee, Vitoriano Sánchez Arminio, "preferred to wait and see how the idea was received at the World Cup before giving a definitive answer." So far, the committee has been "extremely surprised and pleased with the spray's reception amongst referees and players from all countries." If the spray is implemented La Liga will "become the first major European league to implement FIFA's latest scheme" (MARCA, 7/1).
