Event Notes: Formula E Unveils Circuit Layout For December's Punta Del Este EPrix

Formula E unveiled the location and circuit layout for the Punta del Este ePrix, the third round of the series to be held on Dec. 13. The 1.1-mile track features 20 turns and is located along Punta del Este's harbor. The track was previously used for the TC2000 touring car events. The course features a mix of straights and sharp turns (Formula E). ... Indian Olympic Association Secretary General Rajeev Mehta warned President N. Ramachandran that he "would be solely responsible if a bid for hosting the 2019 Asian Games is not made in time before the deadline of July 1." Mehta, in a letter to Ramachandran, claimed that 85% of the IOA members "have given their consent to bid for the Games." Mehta: "I now hope that you will submit the bid for the 2019 Asian Games by or before July 1, 2014, and will not let the IOA, its members and the sport loving people or your country, down by not submitting the bid" (MUMBAI MIRROR, 6/20).
