English Premier League, Scottish Football League To Release Fixtures Wednesday

The '14-15 English and Scottish League fixtures will be announced at 9am BST on Wednesday, according to the BBC. Man City "will begin the defence" of its Premier League title on the weekend of Aug. 16. Celtic, under new Manager Ronny Deila, starts its "bid for a fourth successive Scottish championship a week earlier." The remainder of the Scottish League also starts on Aug. 9, along with the Football League program. In Scotland, "there will be huge interest in the Championship given it contains Rangers, Hearts and Hibernian, who between them had three of the five highest average attendances last season" (BBC, 6/17).
