League Championship Side Reading Reaches Takeover Deal With Unnamed Thai Billionaire

An "as yet unnamed" Thai billionaire "has signed a deal to become the new owner" at League Championship side Reading FC, according to Charles Watts of the READING POST. The news brings to an end an "ownership saga which has plagued Royals for almost a year following the disappearance of Anton Zingarevich." The club is "expected to make some sort of announcement in the coming days" (READING POST, 6/13). The BANGKOK POST reported the purchase "would be the third by a Thai investor of an English football team." Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha (formerly Raksriaksorn), the "chairman of the duty-free empire King Power Group," paid a "reported 2 billion baht" for then-Championship side Leicester City in '10 (BANGKOK POST, 6/14).
