Handball Bundesliga (HBL) club THW Kiel Managing Dir KLAUS ELWARDT will step down from his position at the end of the season. Romania Liga 1 side Steaua Bucharest appointed former Spanish player CONSTANTIN GALCA coach. Galca agreed to a two-year contract to succeed LAURENTIU REGHECAMPF, "who leaves behind a squad who have won two consecutive Romanian League titles" (FOOTBALL ESPANA, 6/3). ... SERGI BARJUÁN "has been chosen as the new coach" of Real Betis, which will compete in the Spanish second division next season (AS, 6/4). ... Spanish second division side Real Valladolid announced that JOAN FRANCESC FERRER SICILIA will replace JUAN IGNACIO MARTÍNEZ as its coach.
