Argentine first division side Quilmes Manager RICARDO CARUSO LOMBARDI ended his tenure with the club. Lombardi: "We did not reach an economic agreement, and the cycle ended" (CLARIN, 5/27). ... La Liga side Granada announced that it has reached a "verbal agreement" for JOAQUÍN CAPARRÓS to become the club's new coach. Caparrós spent the '13-14 season with La Liga side Levante (Granada). ... Swiss Super League side FC Basel has appointed PAULO SOUSA as its new head coach. The Portuguese, who "previously coached Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv, will sign a three-year contract with team." Sousa replaces MURAT YAKIN (BLICK, 5/28). ... Austrian football Bundesliga side Austria Vienna has appointed GERALD BAUMGARTNER as its new head coach. Baumgartner, who "previously coached St. Pölten, will sign a two-year deal with the club." Baumgartner takes over the club from interim coach HERBERT GAGER (KURIER, 5/28). ... Australian Football League side Carlton CEO GREG SWANN "will leave the club mid-season," in a simultaneous June departure with outgoing President STEPHEN KERNAHAN. Swann, who left Collingwood in '07 to join the Blues, "has been aware of his imminent exit for some time, but he officially informed club staff on Wednesday of the timing." Swann's name "has been linked strongly with Brisbane and he remains on the shortlist of candidates at that club although he has not yet been approached by the Lions" (CANBERRA TIMES, 5/28). ... Marseille appointed Argentine MARCELO BIELSA as the club's new head coach. The "long-expected announcement follows weeks of discussions between Marseille officials and the 58-year-old, whose last club was Athletic Bilbao." Bielsa "also led Argentina for a six-year spell" from '98-04 (PA, 5/27). ... Adidas AG extended the mandates for Global Operations exec board member GLENN BENNETT and CFO ROBIN STALKER for three years through March '18. Bennett has been a member of adidas AG's exec board since '97 while Stalker has been with the board since '01 (adidas).
