Football Notes: Chinese EMU Train Shipped To Brazil For World Cup Duty

A second China-made electric multiple unit (EMU), a type of intercity high-speed train, "arrived in Brazil on Tuesday." EMU Project Manager Zhao Yao said that the train "was delivered four months ahead of the contracted delivery time in order to ensure the rail system's operation before the opening" of the World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. The train is "capable of carrying 1,300 people can run at a maximum speed of 100 km per hour" (XINHUA, 5/22). ... Atlético Madrid's shirts during Saturday's Champions League final against Real Madrid will bear the name of former Atlético coach Luis Aragonés on the inside of the collar. Aragonés died in February at the age of 75 (MARCA, 5/22).
