Sunday's Second Leg Of Liga MX Final Draws 2014-Best 2.5 Million Viewers On U.S.'s UniMas

Liga MX side Leon's 2-0 defeat of Pachuca on Sunday in the second leg of Liga MX's Clausura final gave Leon the championship in a match that drew an average audience of 2.5 million viewers on U.S. broadcasters UniMas and Univision Deportes' simulcast, according to Mike Reynolds of MULTICHANNEL NEWS. Network parent Univision Communications officials said that it was the "most-viewed" club football match on any U.S. network in '14, besting Premier League, Champions League and Major League Soccer action, "among others." Leon's 2-0 win "tallied 4.7 million viewers who saw some portion of the match, while averaging 1.6 million adults 18 to 49." Telemundo drew 1.73 million viewers with its coverage of the opening leg of the two-game set on Thursday, which Pachuca won 3-2 (MULTICHANNEL NEWS, 5/20).
