Bundesliga Side FC Cologne Renews Stadium Naming-Rights Deal With RheinEnergie Until '18

Newly promoted Bundesliga club FC Cologne "has extended its stadium naming-rights deal with energy producer RheinEnergie until '18," according to Alexander Haubrichs of EXPRESS. The two parties "signed the contract extension on Tuesday." The contract "is performance based, meaning the club will receive more money for on-field success." RheinEnergie Chair Dieter Steinkamp said, "We are excited to continue our partnership with the club. The club went through a very positive development during the last two years, and we are confident it will continue over the next several years." In addition to the naming rights, the company "will continue to support the club's youth." It will stay on as shirt sponsor of Cologne's U21 team. RheinEnergie has been the stadium's naming-rights partner since '02 (EXPRESS, 5/20).

THIRD DIVISION: LIGA3-ONLINE's Julian Koch reported German 3rd League football club VfL Osnabrück "renewed its stadium naming-rights deal with telecom company Osnatel." The contract, which was set to expire at the end of the season, "will run for another year through the end of the '14-15 campaign" (LIGA3-ONLINE, 5/20).
