More Than 7 Million Tune In To Watch Second Leg Of Bundesliga Relegation On ARD

German public broadcaster ARD "attracted more than 7 million viewers to its broadcast of the second leg of the relegation matchup between Hamburg SV and Greuther Fürth on Sunday," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. A total of 7.35 million viewers tuned in starting at 5pm. The number translated into a market share of 36.9%. In the target demographic 14-49, the 1-1 draw obtained a 29.7% share. German pay-TV channel Sky, which also aired the game, attracted 380,000 viewers to its broadcast.

HOCKEY WORLDS: German sports network Sport1 "attracted 360,000 viewers for its broadcast of the hockey world championship game between Germany and Belarus on Saturday." The game, which started at 3:30pm, obtained a market share of 3.5%, including 3.7% in the target demographic. Sunday's game between Germany and Russia was watched by an average of 410,000 viewers starting at 7:45pm. The game's market shares were 1.3% and 1.5%, respectively (QUOTENMETER, 5/19).

FA CUP: In London, Mark Sweney reported ITV's live match coverage, between 5-7:30pm, of Arsenal's 3-2 win over Hull City in the FA Cup "drew an average of 7.7 million viewers -- a 50% share of the TV audience with a 15-minute peak of 9.3 million." Last year's match coverage of Wigan's triumph over Man City "was watched by an average of 7.2 million and a 15-minute peak of 9 million." ITV's extended coverage of this year's FA Cup final, which ran from 3-8:15pm, "drew an average of 5.4 million and a 40.6% share" (GUARDIAN, 5/19).

DTM: DWDL's Alexander Krei reported ARD "recorded 1.26 million viewers for its broadcast of the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) race on Sunday afternoon." The race obtained a market share of 9.7%. In the target demographic, the race from Oschersleben had a 7.8% share (DWDL, 5/19).
