Event Notes: Jockey Club In Support Of Super Group One Races

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will support a move to introduce a new category of black-type races, so-called Super Group One races. Jockey Club Exec Dir of Racing Bill Nader "expressed his support" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 5/6). ... The preliminary rounds of the Premier 12 of the World Baseball Softball Confederation led by the Int'l Baseball Federation "are likely to take place in Taiwan in November of next year." Chinese Professional Baseball League President Huang Cheng-tai said the IBAF "has extended an invitation for the CPBL to host the WBSC Premier 12 preliminaries, part of which will also be held in Japan" (CNA, 5/6).
