Source Close To Lionel Messi Denies Report Claiming He Owes Court Additional Payments

Lionel Messi and his family "reacted with concern to a report on Sunday" saying that his eventual settlement with the Spanish tax authorities could cost him €41M ($57M), according to Sergi Font of MARCA. Sources "close to Messi expressed surprise and indignation at the news," which was reported by Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia. The source said, "What was published is not true. There has been no new movement or any new payment. We are awaiting the judge's resolution and until then we will stay silent. What we want to make clear is that the figures appearing in the report are erroneous" (MARCA, 5/5).
