Uruguayan first division side Nacional coach GERARDO PELUSSO "has left his position with the club following a 5-0 loss against rival Peñarol." Pelusso's "departure was agreed upon in a meeting of club execs" (EFE, 4/29). ... The board of Scottish Premiership side Hibernian FC confirmed the appointment of LEEANN DEMPSTER as CEO. Dempster joins from Motherwell FC and begins her position with Hibernian on June 1 (Hibernian). ... UEFA Pro License coach FRITZ SCHMID is the new FA of Malaysia technical director. FAM signed the 55-year-old Swiss "on a three-year contract to assist in the development of football and oversee the progress of the national and project teams." Schmid will begin work on Friday (THE STAR, 4/29). ... Athletics New Zealand named LINDA HAMERSLEY as its new CEO. Hamersley, who is currently a New Zealand Olympic Committee employee and partner of recently-appointed men's Blacks Sticks coach COLIN BATCH, was replacing SCOTT NEWMAN, "who announced his retirement in January after seven years in the job." Previously, Hamersley "spent five years as CEO of the Western Australian Hockey Association" (FAIRFAX NZ NEWS, 4/29). ... The Int'l Table Tennis Federation said that ITTF President ADHAM SHARARA "will step down from his presidency" on Sept. 1. Sharara will be replaced by THOMAS WEIKERT, "now deputy president of ITTF and also the head of the German Table Tennis Association" (XINHUA, 4/29). ... The British Olympic Association said that MARK ENGLAND "has been appointed as the chef de mission of Team GB for the Baku 2015 European Games and the Rio 2016 Olympics." England is currently the director of sport services at the BOA "and has previously been a deputy chef de mission at six Olympic Games, including London 2012." His appointment "was unanimously approved by the BOA board at a meeting on Tuesday" (PA, 4/29). ...The Motor Sports Association said that Int’l Motor Sports CEO ANDREW COE will leave his post. Coe’s plans have not been revealed, but he will take a leave of his current position on Friday (MSA).
