Hull City Announces Four-Year Kit Deal With Umbro Beginning In June

EPL side Hull City and Umbro "have signed a new lucrative four-year partnership deal" beginning in June, according to the HULL DAILY MAIL. The strip for the '14-15 season "is expected to be unveiled in June." It is unclear what club badge will appear on the strip "because of the continued doubt over the club's official name." The Umbro deal was announced to the Hull City supporters 24 minutes into the Tigers’ match against Arsenal at the KC Stadium, a reference to the year Umbro was established (1924). Umbro "will produce all on-pitch and training product for the men’s, women’s and academy teams, as well as training and sportswear for both players and fans" (HULL DAILY MAIL, 4/20). SBNATION's Mark Yesilevskiy wrote following Nike's decision to "divest of football brand Umbro, it was looking a little bleak for the Manchester-based sportswear manufacturer." There "were many questions about the double diamond's future with some predicting that they would fade into relative obscurity like FILA, Pony, Admiral, and many others before them." That "hasn't been the case and Umbro looks very strong" heading into '14-15 (SBNATION, 4/20).
