Former test captain MOIN KHAN "was handed the dual role of Pakistan's team manager and chief selector on Monday." The 42-year-old "served as head coach in the recent Asia Cup and World Twenty20 tournaments." It "is the first time the board has handed the two roles to the same individual" (REUTERS, 4/21). ... Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar announced on Friday that MARCO VAN BASTEN "reached a verbal agreement to be the next coach" of the club (XINHUA, 4/19). ... Former Serie A side AC Milan and Roma coach FABIO CAPELLO confirmed that "he will retire from the game after the 2018 World Cup." Capello is "currently in charge of the Russian national team, and is currently preparing to take the country to the tournament in Brazil this summer" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 4/21).
