Scottish League 1 Side Rangers Agree To Shirt Deal With Online Gambling Company 32Red

Scottish League 1 side Rangers was "handed a boost off the park after a weekend of disappointment on it" as it clinched a new shirt deal with online gambling company 32Red, according to Gavin Berry of the Scotland DAILY RECORD. The Gibraltar-based British firm "will replace current sponsor Blackthorn as of next season" in a partnership it hopes will last until the Light Blues are back in the Premiership. 32Red has "already been involved with English top flight clubs in the same capacity," having sponsored both EPL side Aston Villa and Swansea City. Now the company is "looking to capitalise on the exposure of Rangers’ next season in the Championship." It could be the Ibrox side’s last year out of the top flight since its "demotion to Scottish football’s bottom tier two years ago following liquidation" (DAILY RECORD, 4/14). STV reported the three-year shirt sponsorship deal "will see the gambling company" appear on the team's jerseys in time for the '14-15 season (STV, 4/14).
