Olympic Notes: Ukraine's Lviv 2022 Winter Olympics Bid Team To Meet With IOC

The Lviv 2022 Winter Olympics bid team will meet the IOC "as soon as possible" to decide whether the "troubled Ukrainian candidacy can meet its commitments as the country faces turmoil." Lviv officials said that "the bid had essentially been put on hold ahead of the presidential elections in May as Russia moved to occupy parts of the country, including Crimea" (REUTERS, 4/10). ... The Qatar Olympic Committee on Wednesday "was named the silver sponsor of the Sport Accord International Convention 2014 taking place in Antalya" (THE PENINSULA, 4/10).
