Sky Bundesliga Broadcasts Draw High Ratings On Tuesday; 3rd League Scores On MDR

German pay-TV channel Sky "recorded high ratings for its Bundesliga broadcasts on Tuesday evening," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The most-watched game was the matchup between Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke, which attracted 510,000 viewers. The 0-0 draw obtained a market share of 2.8% in the target demographic 14-49. Bayern Munich's game against Hertha Berlin was watched by 300,000 viewers. Bayern's 3-1 victory, which sealed the club's 24th Bundesliga title, had a market share of 1.3% in the target demographic. Overall, Sky's broadcasts attracted 1.61 million viewers. In the target demographic, Sky recorded a market share of 7%. After the conclusion of its live broadcasts, Sky's Bundesliga highlights show "Alle Spiele, alle Tore" was watched by 530,000 and had a 3.1% share in the target demographic. In addition, German public broadcaster ARD obtained market shares of 18.4% and 11.4% in the target demographic while 3.6 million viewers tuned in to its Bundesliga highlights show "Sportschau" (DWDL, 3/26).

LOWER DIVISION: QUOTENMETER's Christopher Schmitt reported German regional public broadcaster MDR "obtained satisfying ratings for its 3rd League game broadcast between RB Leipzig and FC Heidenheim." The first half of the game attracted 610,000 viewers and had a market share of 1.9%. In the target demographic, the first half obtained a market share of 0.8%. In the second half, the viewership increased to 740,000. The 1-1 draw obtained market shares of 2.6% and 1.7%, respectively, during the second half (QUOTENMETER, 3/27).
