Marketplace Roundup: Kia Extends Deal With U.S. Golfer Michelle Wie

Kia has extended its deal with U.S. golfer Michelle Wie as its brand ambassador. Wie will serve as a global spokesperson for Kia, and appear in advertising, marketing and promotions (Kia). ... Audi AG will sponsor the FIS Cross-Country World Cup, the men's FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, including the Four Hills Tournament, and the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in '16 and '18 (Audi). ... Sports apparel manufacturer Warrior "has entered into a unique partnership" with Norwegian Tippeligaen side Odds BK. The agreement will see the U.S.-based brand "supply the side’s home and away playing kits and training gear." Additionally, it will "also become the boot supplier to all of the club’s players" (SOCCEREX, 3/25). ... The fall-out from the Football League rejecting the takeover of League Championship side Leeds by Massimo Cellino "has seen shirt sponsors Enterprise Insurance demand back" the £1.8M ($2.9M) advanced to the club for a deal that runs for three more seasons. Enterprise has said "in a strongly worded legal letter that the club’s association with Cellino has been damaging to their company’s reputation" (London DAILY MAIL, 3/24).
