British tennis player ANDY MURRAY and coach IVAN LENDL "have agreed to end their two-year partnership." Under Lendl, Murray won his first Grand Slam at the 2012 U.S. Open, Olympic Gold and last year's Wimbledon. Murray: "I'm eternally grateful to Ivan for all his hard work. We've learned a lot as a team and it will be of benefit in the future." Lendl said it was time to "concentrate on some of my own projects, including playing more events around the world" (BBC, 3/19). ... Drivers SAM BIRD, JARNO TRULLI, NICK HEIDFELD and JÉRÔME D'AMBROSIO have added their names to the Formula E Drivers' Club. Launched in January, the new scheme features a pool of top, int'l names that all officially endorse the new Formula E Championship and have expressed a willingness to race in the future (Formula E). ... Thailand tennis player PARADORN SRICHAPHAN has been named by the Int'l Tennis Federation "to represent the game" as an athlete role model at the second Youth Olympic Games to be held in the Chinese city of Nanjing from Aug. 16-28. The 34-year-old Srichaphan, "a household name in his home country" who retired in '10, won five singles titles "in an outstanding career" and was among the world’s top 30 during his peak playing days (PHNOM PENH POST, 3/19). ... U.S. and Bundesliga club Hannover defender STEVE CHERUNDOLO is expected to make his retirement official. Cherundolo "had been sidelined" for much of the '13-14 season following multiple knee surgeries (ESPN, 3/19).
