The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee named Toyota Motor Corp. CEO AKIO TOYODA as VP on Monday as it "filled out all but one seat on its 35-man board." Former Japan FA President and inaugural J.League Chair SABURO KAWABUCHI "was selected to head the five-man council" (KYODO, 3/17). ... German Hockey League (DEL) club ERC Ingolstadt has appointed CLAUDIUS REHBEIN as its new marketing and communications director. The newly created position includes strategic and operative marketing as well as fan, sponsorship and media communication (ERC Ingolstadt). ... German fourth division football club Alemannia Aachen has appointed former professional tennis player ALEXANDER MRONZ as its new managing director. The club's supervisory board "provided Mronz with an initial contract until June 30" (KICKER, 3/14). ... Spanish second division side Real Zaragoza announced the release of coach PACO HERRERA on Tuesday (Real Zaragoza).
