Lagardère Unlimited has decided to centralize its European football resources, especially in Germany and France, to support its development strategy in this sector. This new pan-European platform will be led by Sportfive Germany Managing Dir PHILIPP HASENBEIN, who will assume the title of head of European football while also retaining his duties at Sportfive Germay. In addition, Lagardère has appointed LAURENT MORETTI as its new managing director of Sportfive France. Moretti is replacing VINCENT TONG CUONG, who decided to pursue new projects (Lagardère Unlimited). ... The Australian Football League Players' Association named PATRICK DANGERFIELD, WILL MINSON and JIMMY BARTEL as board members for '14. Bartel is a 10-year PA club delegate. Dangerfield and Minson were also club delegates for Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs, respectively, in '13. They have stepped into the director positions left vacant by JASON BLAKE, BOB MURPHY and ADAM SELWOOD, who retired last season (AFL).

COACH SACKINGS: Championship side Charlton Athletic has sacked Manager CHRIS POWELL. The club confirmed his departure with "immediate effect," but Charlton Owner ROLAND DUCHÂTELET added, "time will tell if it is the right decision" (LONDON TIMES, 3/11). ... Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg has fired coach LUCIANO SPALLETTI with the three-time Russian football title-winners "on the verge of exiting the Champions League." The 55-year-old Italian joined Zenit in Dec. '09. The source said that the team would be managed by reserves coach SERGEI SEMAK, 38, who "won two titles under Spalletti as a player" (R-SPORT, 3/11).
