Cristiano Ronaldo Tops Goal's 2014 Rich List With $205M Estimated Worth

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the "world's richest footballer after topping the annual list of players' net worth," according to a list compiled by GOAL. Ronaldo held off Barcelona's Lionel Messi in the Goal Rich List 2014 with an "estimated wealth" of €148M ($205.4M). Messi came in second at €146M ($202.6M). ManU's Wayne Rooney made the top four after being offered the "biggest contract in British football history," worth €365,000 ($506,600) a week. Chelsea's Samuel Eto'o -- €85M ($118M) -- is at No. 3, ahead of Rooney, "thanks largely to the millions he earned at Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala," with AC Milan's Kaka, Atlético Mineiro's Ronaldinho, Paris St. Germain's Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Juventus's Gianluigi Buffon and Major League Soccer N.Y. Red Bulls' Thierry Henry completing the top 10 (GOAL, 3/10). Click here for the full list.
