Wige Media Agrees To Cooperation With Sports Marketing Agency IEC In Sports

German TV production company Wige Media AG "has signed a cooperation with Swedish sports marketing agency IEC in Sports for the worldwide marketing of its complete motorsports portfolio," according to NEW BUSINESS. As part of the long-term agreement, ICE in Sports, which is a subsidiary of French group Lagardère, "will take over the worldwide motion picture distribution across all media platforms." Wige Media's motorsports portfolio includes about 150 live shows as well as highlights, magazines and newsfeeds. The cooperation "will start in '14" and includes the German Touring Car Championship (DTM), Porsche Carrera Cup, EuroGTSprint & EuroV8 Series, Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup, Ferrari Challenge Europe, FIA Formula 3 European Championship, ADAC GT Masters, Venture Cup Powerboat Race and the ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race Nürburgring. IEC in Sports CEO Daniel Franck said, "Motorsports is after football one of the most popular sports in the world, which makes this cooperation especially attractive for IEC" (NEW BUSINESS, 2/27).
