Barcelona on Wednesday opened its new entrance to the Camp Nou, "which the club hopes will become the main entrance for fans," according to the EFE. Barcelona Sponsorship Dir Jordi Moix introduced the "completed renovation project of the 722.5 square meter area, which lasted six months" and cost €1.5M ($2.1M). Barcelona is "hoping the upgrade will dignify the stadium's main entrance and reduce traffic on gamedays" (EFE, 2/25). Pedestrians and cars will have separate entries to the Camp Nou, as the new entrance is connected to the main boulevard by a foot bridge, ramps, stairs and lifts. The entrance has also been adapted for people with reduced mobility, or visual or hearing impediments. The renovated entrance also allows for easier access to the social area, the Tour Experience and the FCB Botiga Megastore, with more green spaces and trees planned to link the two interior spaces. The project also increased Barcelona's number of ticket sales points by six to 16, including one for people with reduced mobility (Barcelona).
FANS WANT VOTE: AS reported that 86.8% of fans "polled in a survey want the club to hold presidential elections." Current President Josep Maria Bartomeu took over the role following Sandro Rosell's resignation (AS, 2/25).
LFP AWAITING DOCUMENTS: The EFE reported the Spanish Football League (LFP) is "waiting for Barcelona to send it new documents relating to the Neymar signing." Depending "on the information the club provides, it could face a fine" of up to €300,000 ($412,000). LFP President Javier Tebas said, "One thing is what is happening at the judicial level and the other is whether the Neymar signing meets LFP regulations." A Spanish court is "investigating the transaction and the club is currently facing charges of tax fraud." Tebas said, "They sent us some documentation and we requested more. There is a committee composed of attorneys and auditors and they will be the ones who decide whether there will be a [LFP] disciplinary investigation." Tebas added that according to LFP statutes, "the club could be fined" from €60,000 ($82,400)-€300,000 (EFE, 2/25).
