Puma appointed LARS SOERENSEN at the end of '13 in his newly created role of global director, business processes & intelligence, reporting to COO ANDY KOEHLER. Based in Herzogenaurach, Soerensen will direct Puma's global information technology, including IT business solutions, business processes and business intelligence projects. Puma appointed JÜRGEN WORMSER as its global director, footwear sourcing & development based in Ho Chi Minh City, reporting to Global Sourcing GM SHIRLEY JUSTICE. Wormser will drive Puma's global footwear strategy and ensure fast processes, systems and structures are in place (FIBRE2FASHION, 2/21). ... Colombian football club Independiente Medellín hired HERNÁN TORRES as its new coach, replacing PEDRO SARMIENTO. Torres made his "debut with the club during Sunday's game against Itagüí" (CARACOL, 2/21). ... Italian Serie B side Pescara sacked coach PASQUALE MARINO "following a sixth consecutive Serie B defeat" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 2/22).
