Media Notes: BeIN Sports Signs Deal With Int'l Handball Federation For '15, '17 Worlds

BeIN Sports "has scored more points in its competition against Canal+ in France" after it struck a deal with the Int'l Handball Federation for the TV rights of the upcoming 2015 and 2017 Men's and Women's Handball World Championships" (RAPID TV NEWS, 2/21). ... French cable-TV provider Numericable "has reached an agreement" with Portuguese football side Benfica to carry Benfica TV (SOCCEREX, 2/21). ... The Austrian Bundesliga "has released an update to its mobile application that will enable users to view highlights of the league’s matches on the go." Match footage from Austria’s top football league "will be available to view on the ‘Bundesliga’ app" (SOCCEREX, 2/21).
