Australian Open Finals Score High Ratings On Eurosport; Sport1 Draws With Handball Euro

Pan-European sports network Eurosport "recorded high ratings for its broadcast of the Australian Open men's final on Sunday morning," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The final between Stanislas Wawrinka and Rafael Nadal attracted an average of 430,000 viewers. The number translated into a market share of 3.8%. In the target demographic 14-49, Wawrinka's four-set victory obtained a 2.6% market share. Saturday's women's final between Li Na and Dominika Cibulkova was watched by 190,000 viewers and had a 2.2% market share.

HANDBALL: DWDL's Krei reported German sports network Sport1 "attracted 480,000 viewers to its broadcast of the Men's EHF European Handball Championship on Sunday." The final between host country Denmark and France obtained a market share of 1.9%. In the target demographic, France's victory had a market share of 1.7% (DWDL, 1/27).
