London Olympic Games Commercial Dir CHRIS TOWNSEND "will replace" civil servant ROBERT SULLIVAN as the head of Broadband Delivery UK on April 1. Townsend "held commercial roles at Transport for London and BSkyB before joining the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games" (GUARDIAN, 1/15). ... League Championship Huddersfield Town named Head of Football Operations ROSS WILSON director. Wilson "will retain his title as Head of Football Operations at his own request." Wilson’s day-to-day role includes "leading the club’s football operations, including the Academy, recruitment scouting, analysis and sports science" (HUDDERSFIELD EXAMINER, 1/15). ... A Pakistan court on Wednesday restored suspended Pakistan Cricket Board CEO ZAKA ASHRAF, the "latest development in an embarrassing legal scandal in the cricket-mad nation." The process, which began after Ashraf was suspended "following dubious elections" in May last year, has "tarnished the reputation of the country's cricket authorities and led to widespread ridicule" (AFP, 1/15).
