Football Social Network Fieldoo's 'Minguella Challenge' Gives Winners Tryouts With Girona

Fieldoo, a social network for footballers and agents, recently held a "Minguella Challenge" that led to a tryout with Spanish second division side Girona for 19-year-old footballer Jordi Pascual, according to CLARIN. The competition was organized by agent Josep María Minguella, who brought Lionel Messi from Argentina to FC Barcelona. Pascual said, "There were 5,000 players registered and we went through qualifying stages through our [Fieldoo] profiles, which include videos, and a boy from Slovenia [Denis Kramar] and I won." Pascual and Kramar are "now in Spain on 10-day trials with Girona." Could "this be a new way for players to realize their dreams of becoming professionals?" Pascual: "I believe it is a great idea if one knows how to manage it" (CLARIN, 1/14).
