League One Brentford FC Pegs U.K.-Based Willmott Dixon As Preferred Stadium Developer

League One side Brentford FC "moved a step closer" to its proposed new £71M ($116.6M) home after naming U.K. construction and regeneration expert Willmott Dixon as its "preferred developer for the stadium, housing and hotel project," according to Andy Hodgson of the London EVENING STANDARD. The planning application "includes a 20,000 seater-stadium, 910 new homes, a hotel and retail spaces." Brentford has been "exploring relocation from Griffin Park for more than a decade and purchased a 7.6 acre site in nearby Lionel Road South" in '12 (EVENING STANDARD, 1/7).
