Premier League Fans Pack Eight Of 10 Stadiums At Least 97% Full On Boxing Day

Premier League football fans filled eight of 10 stadiums to more than 97% of capacity on Boxing Day, packing two stadiums more than 99% full and leaving "only one stadium" below 90% in occupancy, according to Paul Nicholson of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. In total, "more than 366,000 spectators filled an available 377,573 seats at the 10 games played." Of the 11,000 seats unfilled, "over 5,000 of them were at Villa Park for the match between Aston Villa and Crystal Palace." While the "rest of Europe's major leagues are on their winter break, the English and the Scots are packing fixtures into their league schedules." From Dec. 21 through Wednesday, EPL clubs will have played a total of four times (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 12/27).
