Giro d’Italia organizer RCS Sport has appointed Italian Track and Field Federation General Secretary PAOLO BELLINO as GM. Bellino "arrives from the Italian Track and Field Federation" and will take up his new role from Jan. 13. Bellino’s appointment follows the dismissal of Giro d’Italia Dir MICHELE ACQUARONE earlier this month. Bellino is a former int'l 400M runner (CYCLING NEWS, 12/19). ... Hungary named ATILLA PINTER as its national football coach on Thursday "in a surprise move after searching for, and then deciding against an overseas appointment." Hungarian FA President SANDOR CSANYI said, "We talked and looked at at least 20 foreign coaches, but after all we thought a native coach would be better" (REUTERS, 12/19).
