Event Notes: Australia Cricket Awards Moves To Sydney For First Time In 15 Years

Australian cricket's Allan Border Medal awards night will be held in Sydney for the first time in its 15-year history. The event, run by Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers' Association will be held on Jan. 20 at Doltone House. The Nine Network will produce a one-hour package to be broadcast. The entire broadcast will be streamed live on cricket.com.au (CA). ... The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Foundation Qatar Int'l Rally has been moved to Feb. 20-22 and will "get a new season of FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) competition underway across the Qatar deserts." Organized by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation, the event "has been the traditional season opener for many years and will be followed by further regional events in Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Cyprus and Dubai" (GULF TIMES, 12/18).
