The District Attorney's Office of Spain's National Court has asked Spanish judge Pablo Ruz to "require FC Barcelona to provide the contract or contracts it has signed with Neymar or his legal representatives," according to Fernando J. Pérez of EL PAIS. The court "also wants evidence of the amounts spent on the signing" before it decides whether to "process a case against Barcelona President Sandro Rosell being brought by Barcelona member Jordi Cases." Cases is accusing Rosell of embezzling €40M ($55M) during Barcelona's acquisition of Neymar (EL PAIS, 12/16).
A senior football official said that nine members of the Eritrean national football team and the coach of the squad "have disappeared in Kenya, bringing the number of those to abscond while playing in a regional tournament to 11." Council for East and Central Africa FAs Secretary General Nicholas Musonye said, "The players and the coach have absconded after the team was knocked out of the regional tournaments which ended last weekend" (REUTERS, 12/16). ...
