ZDF Scores Wednesday's Top Ratings For Champions League Game Broadcast

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded Wednesday's top ratings for its broadcast of the Champions League match between Borussia Dortmund and Olympique de Marseille," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. A total of 8.29 million viewers tuned in to watch the game, which started at 8:45pm German time. The number translated into a market share of 33%. In the target demographic 14-49, Dortmund's last-minute victory was watched by 2.48 million viewers and had a 20.6% market share. Following the Dortmund game, ZDF showed highlights of the CL match between FC Schalke and FC Basel. The game summary, which started at 10:50pm, attracted an average of 7.48 million viewers. The highlights of Schalke's 2-0 win obtained a 26.2% market share in the target demographic. Pay-TV network Sky Deutschland also attracted high ratings for its broadcast of Wednesday's Champions League games. An average of 870,000 viewers tuned in to watch Sky's simulcast or one of its individual game feeds. The number translated into a market share of 2.8% and 3.7% in the target demographic (QUOTENMETER, 12/12).
