Sky Deutschland Releases Sports Bar Viewing Numbers; BildPlus Reports 150K Subscribers

German pay-TV network Sky Deutschland "has started measuring its ratings and viewership numbers at sports bars," according to Manuel Weis of QUOTENMETER. The first such numbers "were released on Wednesday and are in regards to the Bundesliga's 'match of the week' between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in Week 13." The game attracted 1.86 million viewers and "set a new single-game ratings record." The new Sky study said that "an additional 750,000 viewers between 18-65 years old watched the game at sports bars." Sky "also measured the viewing number for its online app Sky Go, which attracted 13,000 viewers to the game broadcast." Overall, Sky said that "the game was watched by a total of 2.74 million viewers" (QUOTENMETER, 12/11).

BILD NUMBERS: QUOTENMETER's Weis also reported Bild, which is a subsidiary of media company Axel Springer, "has release the first numbers for its on-demand offer, BildPlus." Six months after the launch of BildPlus, Axel Springer revealed this week that its offer "attracted a total of 152,493 full-time subscribers." The number "does not include customers who only signed up for the one-month trial." Springer said in a statement that "about a third of subscribers have also signed up for its 'Bundesliga bei Bild' offer." BildPlus is available in three version between €4.99-€14.99 ($6.90-$20.70) per month. The Bundesliga package is available for an additional €2.99 ($4.12) a month (QUOTENMETER, 12/11).

REAL-COPENHAGEN: The EP reported Real Madrid's Champions League victory against FC Copenhagen drew 5.3 million viewers on Spanish broadcaster TVE's La 1, registering a 27.4% market share (EP, 12/11).
