Uruguayan Football Clubs Present Formal Complaint To CONMEBOL Execs

Several Uruguayan football teams "decided to file a formal complaint against South American football governing body CONMEBOL" because they are uncomfortable with recent financial management, according to the EFE. The clubs supporting the complaint include Peñarol, El Tanque Sisley, Cerro Largo, Cerro, Rentistas and Miramar Misiones. Execs of those clubs are "hoping to clear up doubts about the latest economic figures from CONMEBOL." The claim "also addresses a recent TV rights offer from Global Sports, with Peñarol President Juan Pedro Damiani claiming that Global Sports made an offer five times better than the one that CONMEBOL accepted" (EFE, 12/11).
