Cronulla Sharks Expect Heavy Fine From National Rugby League Over ASADA Report

The property group behind the A$300M ($273M) residential and retail development at Cronulla said that "it remains committed to the Sharks' survival as speculation continues the club will be heavily fined" by the National Rugby League Wednesday over its '11 supplements program, according to Stuart Honeysett of THE AUSTRALIAN. The Australian Rugby League Commission "is expected to receive a report into the drug protocols of all clubs and speculation is rife" the Sharks will be fined about A$500,000 and staff from '11 will be sanctioned over an illegal supplements program. Bluestone Property Solutions Managing Dir Ben Fairfax did not want to talk about the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority case but said that "the Sharks' football club and stadium was central to the project scheduled for completion in 2016." He said, "We are always there and we back the club 100 percent and we are always looking at ways of working with them to come up with the right solutions" (THE AUSTRALIAN, 12/10).
