Second Bundesliga Club FC Kaiserslautern Reports Loss Of $2.6M In '12-13

Second Bundesliga club FC Kaiserslautern "released its financial results for the '12-13 season" in which it lost €1.9M ($2.6M), according to the SID. The club, which "narrowly missed promotion to the Bundesliga last season," said in a statement on Friday that due to its "high dependency on on-field success" the team was unable to further improve its enhanced economic situation. The main reasons for the loss "are lower revenues in the areas of TV income and ticketing." In addition, fixed costs such as the stadium lease "are notably impacting the result." Kaiserslautern also is expecting a loss for the current fiscal year (SID, 12/6).
