German TV Channel Sat.1 Extends Super Bowl Broadcast Deal Through 2015

German free-to-air TV channel Sat.1 "has extended its Super Bowl broadcast rights deal through '15," according to Timo Nöthling of QUOTENMETER. Sat.1, which aired Super Bowl XLVI in '12 and Super Bowl XLVII in Germany in February, "will show the upcoming two Super Bowls from New York/New Jersey in February and Phoenix in '15 after successful negotiations with IMG." In addition to its TV broadcast, Sat.1 "will offer its viewers the opportunity to watch Super Bowl XLVIII as a livestream on ran.de on Feb. 2." Sat.1 "will also air Divisional Playoff and Conference Championship games." The channel "will show one Conference Championship game as a summary before the live broadcast of second game." The commentators "will once again be Frank Buschmann and Jan Stecker." This year's game between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers obtained a 35.2% market share in the target demographic 14-49 (QUOTENMETER, 12/5).
