Argentine Football's Players Association Threatens '14 Boycott If Players Remain Unpaid

The Argentine Footballers Association (FAA) has warned that players will not play in the Argentine FA's tournaments scheduled for '14 if they are "not paid the money they are owed by the end of the year," according to the EP. The FAA released a statement critical of "the grave economic and financial crisis faced by many of the clubs associated with the AFA." The FAA is demanding "complete payment of owed salary, without exception." The FAA's statement "warned that in the event that this obligation is not fulfilled, even if only by one team, not one of the AFA's tournaments will start as scheduled" (EP, 12/3).
