Bundesliga Club Borussia Dortmund Reveals Revenue Of $412M, Pays $8.2M In Dividends

Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund Managing Dir Hans-Joachim Watzke said at its shareholder meeting on Monday that the club generated a revenue of €305M ($412M) and "is only 25% behind Bayern Munich," according to the DPA. The Munich-based club "spent more than double on its payroll compared to Dortmund," with €160M ($216M) and €77M ($104M), respectively. Watzke: "Bayern Munich currently is the best team in the world." Dortmund's record profit of €53M ($72M) "is mainly caused by transfer fees including the sale of Mario Götze to Bayern Munich." Watzke said that because the club used the transfer income to acquire new players, the profit "available for dividends is not unlimited." Borussia Dortmund will pay €0.10 ($0.14) per share or a total of €6.1M ($8.2M) (DPA, 11/25).
