Europe's Top Six American Football Clubs Create New BIG 6 European League

Europe's top six American football teams "are creating a new league," according to the KURIER. The Raiffeisen Vikings Vienna and SWARCO Raiders Tirol, both from Austria, along with the Berlin Adler, New Yorker Lions Braunschweig and Dresden Monarchs from Germany, plus the Calanda Broncos from Switzerland "will compete in a new championship called the BIG 6 Euopean League." The reason for the new league is that all teams "were running out of opponents in their domestic leagues, so they decided to find opponents abroad." The BIG 6 European League "will combine those European powerhouses, which have not lost a game in almost five years, except when they played each other." The EuroBowl "has been won by one of the six clubs each of the last 11 years." In comparison to previous attempts to create a European league, the BIG 6 "is purely an invitational league, which will be played in two three-team groups." In addition to the new league, the European Football League "will be continued" (KURIER, 11/20).
