Event Notes: Hong Kong To Host Asian Windsurfing Championships At Stanley Bay

Windsurfers will compete with the region's top board sailors in the Asian Championships at Stanley Bay in Hong Kong in late November. The Nov. 26-Dec. 1 regatta "will be the biggest of its kind" before the Incheon Asian Games in South Korea, "with Asian boardsailing powers China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea all confirming their participation" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 11/6). ... The hosting rights for the second U15 Baseball World Cup in '14 "have been awarded to the Mexican city of La Paz, in Sur Baja California." Twelve national teams will come together for the U15 Baseball World Cup "in the tourist city that sits on the Sea of Cortez" (IBAF). ... Badminton World Federation President Poul-Erik Hoyer said that Thailand "would be a suitable host for the Superseries Finals and the World Championships" (BANGKOK POST, 11/6).
