Olympic Notes: Olympic Flame For Sochi 2014 Winter Games Arrives At The North Pole

Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee President Dmitry Chernyshenko said that "the Olympic flame for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games has arrived at the North Pole." Chernyshenko, posting a picture of the flame in a delicately designed container, wrote on Twitter, "Record is set! First time ever the Olympic Flame reached the North Pole!" (XINHUA, 10/21). ... The IOC has announced U.S. golfer Michelle Wie as Youth Olympic Games ambassador. Wie, the youngest player to ever qualify for a USGA tournament, at just 10 years old, will share her advice and experience with the first generation of YOG golfers. Golf will make its YOG debut at Nanjing in '14 (IOC).
