Event Notes: Singapore GP With Highest Number Of Spectators Since Inaugural '08 Race

The sixth installment of the F1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix "has recorded the highest attendance since the inaugural 2008 race." Organizers revealed a total of 262,527 people visited the Marina Bay Street Circuit "over the three-day sell-out race weekend." In '08, crowd figures "were estimated at about 100,000 for the race, 300,000 visitors for the race weekend" (STRAITS TIMES, 9/22). ... The Int'l Motor Sports Association announced a 12-race schedule for the '14 debut season of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. The schedule will include a race at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in historic Bowmanville, Ontario on July 13 (IMSA). ... Two more gymnastic disciplines -- acrobatics and aerobics -- "will become a part of the first European Games," which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in '15 (XINHUA, 9/22).
