Sky Scores High Ratings With Saturday's Bundesliga Simulcast; Volleyball Top On Sport1

German pay-TV channel Sky "recorded outstanding ratings with its broadcast of Saturday's Bundesliga games," according to Manuel Nunez Sanchez of QUOTENMETER. A total of 1.24 million viewers tuned in to watch Sky's simulcast of the five afternoon games starting at 3:30pm. The number translated into a market share of 10.1%. In the target demographic 14-49, Sky attracted 580,000 viewers and had a 11.3% share. Following the simulcast, Saturday's top match between Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg SV was watched by 970,000 viewers. The game, which started at 6:30pm, obtained a 4.6% market share. In the target demographic, Dortmund's 6-2 victory attracted 440,000 viewers and had a 6.2% market share (QUOTENMETER, 9/15).

DIGS & KILLS: German sports channel Sport1 broke the 1-million-viewer mark in peak audience with its broadcast of the women's 2013 European Volleyball Championships semifinal match between Germany and Belgium on Friday evening. Germany's 3-2 victory attracted an average audience of 510,000 viewers and obtained a 3.6% market share (Deutscher Volleyball-Verband).
