No Solution For Australian Football League Brisbane Lions Board Woes

The division racking the Australian Football League Brisbane Lions board "remains at a stalemate, with plans for an extraordinary general meeting to resolve the deadlock forestalled," according to Andrew Stafford of the BRISBANE TIMES. Lions Chair Angus Johnson "has been challenged by a rival ticket" led by Dirs Paul Williams and Mick Power, who "also have the backing of Leigh Matthews, who led the Lions to a hat-trick of premierships as coach." The stalemate "comes at a critical time for the Lions, with the board instability affecting its search for a new coach and its positions during the trade and draft periods" (BRISBANE TIMES, 9/12).
