Franchise Notes: CBA Side Shanxi's $24.77M Value Allows For Move To Beijing

Chinese Basketball Association side Shanxi Zhongyu has been valued at 151.61M yuan ($24.77M) by an "independent asset appraisal agency," paving the way for the team "to switch its home ground to Beijing" (XINHUA, 9/8). ... La Liga side Valencia has a "key 'game' in its future" as a Sports Limited Company (Sociedad Anonima Deportiva). At the request of team directors, representatives of the team, its majority shareholder VCF Foundation, Spanish bank Bankia, and the Valencian government will meet Monday. Valencia President Amadeo Salvo will "try to pool interests and address the deep-rooted situation of the guarantee" of the €81M ($107M) loan that Bankia gave the VCF Foundation in '09. The Valencian government will not "assume the role of guarantor" until a ruling confirms this -- a judge has provisionally approved this condition (AS, 9/8).
